The Director of Visual Merchandising is a strategic and creative leader responsible for bringing the Supergoop! brand to life across all physical retail environments. Reporting to the VP of Creative, this role oversees the concepting, design, and execution of in-store fixtures, planograms, retail graphics, event environments, and experiential pop-ups. This individual will partner cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, Retail, Sales, and Ops to ensure consistent, premium retail expression across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Fixture & Display Design
Lead concept development and design for permanent and semi-permanent in-store fixtures, displays, and merchandising systems.Partner with the VP, Creative to ensure fixture concepts reinforce Supergoop!'s brand identity, storytelling, and category leadership.Manage vendor relationships, material selection, prototyping, and production oversight to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Planograms & Merchandising Strategy
Own the creation and evolution of planograms for all retail partners and Supergoop! owned environments.Develop merchandising strategies that optimize product visibility, education, and sell-through.Collaborate with Sales and Retail partners to adapt planograms for different store formats and seasonal initiatives.
In-Store Graphics & Communications
Oversee the design and execution of in-store signage, educational graphics, end-caps, and seasonal visual refreshes.Ensure all graphic systems align with brand guidelines and enhance consumer navigation and product understanding.
Experiential, Events & Pop-Ups
Lead creative development and spatial design for brand events, trade shows, seasonal activations, and temporary pop-ups.Oversee environmental design, floor plans, décor, signage, product displays, and guest flow.Partner with Marketing and experiential agencies to deliver high-impact brand moments.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Creative, Product, Retail, Marketing, and Operations partners to align all visual merchandising initiatives with brand strategy and business goals.Working with the project manager, develop timelines, budgets, and project plans ensuring successful and efficient execution.
Qualifications
6–10+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail design, experiential design, or environmental branding; beauty or CPG experience preferred.Strong portfolio showcasing fixture design, spatial design, environmental graphics, and retail merchandising systems.Expertise in 3D design and rendering software, is preferred (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorks, Cinema 4D) and Adobe Creative Suite.Strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and retail production workflows.Excellent project management, communication, and vendor management skills.Highly creative problem solver with a deep understanding of consumer experience, brand expression, and retail behaviors.Ability to balance big-picture creative strategy with meticulous execution.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000/year
